STUDENT SURVEYS of our Teachers
Rigor, Relevance, & Relationship?
All vital ingredients facilitating student learning and engagement!
Teachers build relationships, create relevance, and apply rigor to help mold and inspire the minds of our students. Together, we all strive to contribute to the future by investing in our children today.
That sounds like a maximization of resources. Good for today AND good for tomorrow...
Student Behavior
Month by Month Comparison
Our discipline data shows our students getting in trouble and needing correction less than in years past. The chart below lists the types of infractions. It is here we see our events have been trending to the less serious, although there may be more of them. We view these opportunities as learning settings where we can help students with content as well as socialization.
We call that a success as well!

A Rose, among…
Trying to get as much milage out of our ugly sweaters as possible.
We are so proud to be serving students, community and staff of Winfield Middle School and District. Together, we want to encourage patience and understanding during this STRESSFUL time of year. In case you have not seen this, our counselor shares some of her thoughts on the season as well:
“During this time of year we all hear the songs that boast of this being the “most wonderful time of the year”. However, as many of you know the holidays are not always the “most wonderful time”. This time of year brings time with family, special events and vacation, but there are also year-end taxes, stress, worrying if you bought the right gift, not knowing if you can buy a gift, spending extended time with family members you may not see throughout the year, and others may come to mind. As you experience this holiday season it is important to remember to use the “soft” skills. Soft skills are the qualities about us that help determine how we approach work and working with others. Please read the article “Academics Are Not Enough. The Importance of Soft Skills for Teens” by Mary Helen Berg found in Your Teen Magazine for Parents. https://goo.gl/OwsbhE
Remember also one of the best gifts you can give your child/children is the gift of “YOU”; take time and spend it with them. It can be as simple as just sitting down and playing a game with them, building something, cooking with them, etc. Taking time and spending it with each other and building memories are what they will remember the most. Wishing you the best!”
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas,
Mrs. Mix
